Book 0143
The White Goddess by Robert Graves
Donated by Toby Litt, who says...
The White Goddess was one of those books that catches a wave – and the wave it caught was the back to nature tsunami of the late sixties. Subsequently, through no fault of its own, it has been rather beached. Which is a great shame because it’s one of the great, passionate, personal books about What Poetry Means. It is simultaneously completely wrong and completely right but (I suspect) in different ways for different readers. Try it – it’s a trip.
